On Tuesday, November 4, 2024, the Annual Rifle Shoot of Good Sportsmanship took place between the National Guard Battalions (TETH) of the National Guard.

According to a related announcement, the Shot has been established as an annual institution since 1995 and has as its main objective the development of a spirit of noble competition and the strengthening of ties between TETHs. 

As part of the cooperation and operational actions developed between the National Guard and the Hellenic Armed Forces, a shooting team from the Kalpaki Military Academy also participated in this year’s shoot.

The shoot was carried out with individual rifles with fixed sights from a distance of 300 meters, and with its completion, the first place was occupied by the team of 71 TETH. At the end of the shoot, an award ceremony was held for the distinguished participants, and commemorative diplomas were presented by the Chief of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Georgios Tsitsikostas.

In his brief greeting, the Chief emphasized the importance of the continuous and selfless contribution of the National Guard in fulfilling the mission of the National Guard, which extends beyond the institutional obligation to serve the country and is a model of patriotic attitude and patriotism. 

He thanked them for their many years of service under arms and urged them to continue to set an example for the next generations, passing on to them the national pride and the willingness to volunteer for the defense of the homeland, making a debt the motto of the coat of arms of the National Guard, “Voluntarily Deceased.”
