The Department of Defense’s Rehabilitation Division says that it has taken in about 12,000 soldiers since the war began on October 7, 2023, including those suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.

According to the Ministry of Defense, about 5,200, or 43% of those admitted to rehabilitation centers in the midst of war, suffer from post-traumatic stress.

Approximately 14% have moderate to severe injuries, including 60 amputees, 12 people who lost their sight, and 23 people with severe head injuries.

Of the 12,000 soldiers, about 66% are reservists.

The ministry says about 1,500 soldiers have been twice wounded in the war, meaning they returned to duty after being treated by the rehabilitation department and wounded a second time.

The rehabilitation department also works with about 62,000 wounded veterans from previous wars. He predicts that by 2030, the center will treat around 100,000 people, at least half of whom will suffer from PTSD ( post-traumatic stress disorder).
