19-year-old Naval Cadet Thalia Kordambalou buried with honors

The 19-year-old Naval Cadet Thalia Kordambalou was buried with military honors at the Metropolitan Church of Agios Achillios. The Naval Cadet developed a fever while on a training trip to Italy, was taken to a hospital in Naples but unfortunately lost her battle for life. 

Thalia Kordambalou was born in Larissa on July 3, 2002. She graduated from the 10th General High School of Larissa with an excellent overall grade of 19.7. In 2020 she took the Panhellenic Exams and was admitted to the School of Finance and Statistics of the University of Piraeus. In 2021, she was successfully admitted to the Hellenic Military Academy, while on October 4, 2021, she was ranked second at the Naval Cadet Academy. Her oath ceremony as a Naval Cadet was held on October 15, 2021, with a Fighter specialty in the 22nd place among Class A Fighters. On July 18, 2022, she was assigned to “Prometheus” as part of the Summer Training Course of the Naval Cadet Academy. On August 25, 2022, she died at the Hospedale Del Mare in Naples, Italy.
