Aimed at promoting the international presence of the Hellenic Defence Industry, the Hellenic Aerospace Security & Defence Industries Group (HASDIG) undertook the organization of the Greek National Pavilion at the World Defence Show (WDS) held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The Greek delegation, which took place with a National Pavilion at the World Defence Show for the first time, was organized under the auspices of the Ministry of National Defence and the General Directorate of Defence Investments and Armaments (GDDIA).
According to a relevant announcement, the WDS international exhibition was organized for the second time and has already managed to attract substantial interest from the defence industry and government organizations in the fields of defence and security.
Seven hundred and seventy-three (773) exhibitors from 75 countries participated in WDS, a number increased by 29% compared to those taking part in the previous exhibition, while a total of 106,000 people and 441 missions from 116 countries visited the exhibition.
Six (6) Greek companies and more specifically, the HELLENIC AEROSPACE INDUSTRY (HAI), HYDRUS, NAFS SA (Skaramagas Shipyards), SCYTALYS, THEON SENSORS participated in the National Pavilion as exhibitors, highlighting the latest developments in the field of the defence industry, while DEFEA was also present.

This particular exhibition resulted in an excellent opportunity for the Greek defence and security companies to present their services and showcase their products and capabilities in the international market, while looking for new partnerships and opportunities to develop their activities.
In this context, during the exhibition, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by the Hellenic Aerospace Security & Defence Industries Group (HASDIG) and the National Association of Ukrainian Defence Industries (NAUDI).
The purpose of the Memorandum is to initiate cooperation between the two Associations in activities and industrial programs of mutual interest in the sectors of defence, aerospace and security. By way of the Memorandum of Understanding, the defence industries of Greece and Ukraine will be able to look into the potential of synergies and exchange know-how and industrial experiences as well as complement each other in various fields.
In addition, the defence industries of the two Associations can consider the potential of collaboration for the joint design and development of new weapon systems for the Armed Forces of Greece and Ukraine as well as the international market, utilizing their network of contacts.
