The director of the Secret Service of the USA has resigned, after the barrage of criticism for possible omissions of the service during the assassination attempt against Donald Trump in Pennsylvania on July 13.

Kimberly Chitle, director of the agency responsible for protecting high-profile figures in the US, had acknowledged that the agency had failed in its mission to protect Trump before the committee of the House of Representatives.

Also, according to Euronews, in an internal letter to executives and employees, she had taken full responsibility.
