A massive drone raid was launched on the night of Thursday into Friday in the Russian Lipetsk region, which does not border Ukraine, damaging a power plant, as the region’s governor Igor Artamonov announced.

Particularly, Lipetsk was targeted by a massive drone attack, Artamonov announced via Telegram, resulting in power outages, he added later, assuring that most of the affected households had already been restored.

The regional governor declared a state of emergency in the municipality of the regional capital of the same name, while ordering the immediate evacuation of the residents of four villages on its outskirts for their safety – the measure concerns 416 households. He also asked the residents of the city of Lipetsk to remain in their homes until the end of the alert. The city of Lipetsk is located approximately 200 km as the crow flies from the Russian border with Ukraine.

Another Ukrainian drone raid was reported in the Belgorod region, which neighbors Ukraine. According to regional governor Vychislav Gladkov, Russian air defenses shot down 29 drones and property damage was reported, but no injuries.

In Sevastopol, on the Crimean peninsula, which Russia annexed in 2014, Governor Mikhail Razvazaev spoke of Ukrainian air and surface drone attacks.

In Russia’s Kursk region, which borders Ukraine, hostilities between Russian and Ukrainian troops, which invaded on Tuesday, continued for a fourth day.

More than a thousand Ukrainian soldiers, supported by tanks, helicopters and other means, are taking part in the surprise attack, according to the Russian General Staff, which assures that everything is done to repel it.
