Recep Tayyip Erdogan signed the ratification of Sweden’s NATO accession agreement which now leaves Hungary the only one standing in the way of the Nordic country’s accession to the Alliance.

On Tuesday, the Turkish National Assembly had voted in favor of the agreement, but Erdogan’s signature had yet to be published in the Government Gazette, which was done on Thursday night.

Tonight, Swedish Prime Minister, Ulf Kristerson, welcomed the Turkish President’s signing of Sweden’s accession protocol to NATO in a post on the X platform.
