Ahmed al-Sara, the Syrian president appointed by the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham organisation, has reached an agreement with the leaders of armed groups to dissolve all factions and integrate them into the Ministry of Defence, according to a statement by the new Syrian authorities.
The designated Prime Minister Mohamed al-Bashir, said last week that the defence ministry would be restructured using former militias and officers who defected from Bashar al-Assad’s army.
The new Syrian authorities have appointed Murhaf Abu Kasra, a leader of the opposition, as the new minister of defence of the transitional government.
It should be noted that this development was announced by Ahmad al-Sara during his meeting with the Foreign Minister of Turkey.
