Nikos Christodoulidis announced on Sunday his resignation from the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs, which he submitted to the President of the Republic, Nikos Anastasiadis. The Minister’s resignation has been accepted.
At the same time, in his statements to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Christodoulidis expressed his interest in the 2023 presidential elections, stating that it is not yet time for decisions. Early and long pre-election periods are counterproductive and do not benefit anyone, he said. He said he would make announcements once he makes his final decisions.
Mr. Christodoulidis shall remain in the post of Foreign Minister until Tuesday, January 11.
