On Friday, December 10, 2021, the oath ceremony of the male Professional Soldiers of the 11th Class was held at the Limassol Training Centre. The ceremony was held in the presence of the soldiers’ families, the Deputy Chief of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Konstantinos Chrysiliou, the Commander of the 3rd Support Brigade, Brigadier Pantelidis Giannakis, and the Commander of Limassol Training Centre, Colonel Kyriakos Kyriakos. The said Professional Soldiers, having attended the Basic Training, will undergo training on operational items and will be placed in the Units for training according to their specialties.
In his Agenda, read by the Commander of the Limassol Training Centre, the Chief of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Democritus Zervakis, said that today marks their official integration into the military family of the National Guard and that they should be proud to become Professional Soldiers, through which the upgrade of the National Guard’s capabilities is achieved. Then, he called on the new Professional Soldiers to honour with a sense of responsibility the uniform and coat of arms of the Greek-Cypriot soldier and to defend the freedom and integrity of our island, something they will achieve with high professionalism, ethics, dedication to duty and continuous training. Concluding, he welcomed them to the National Guard and wished them good luck in their new beginning.
The celebration took place in compliance with all protection measures against the COVID-19 pandemic.
