On Friday, March 4, 2022, a Combat Search and Rescue Exercise (CSAR) was held in the Delikipou area, under the name “ARIADNE – 2022”. The exercise was conducted with the participation of Special Operations Teams of the Special Forces Command and AW-139 and Mi-35 helicopters of the Air Force Command of the National Guard General Staff.
The scenario of the exercise involved the virtual downing of friendly helicopters in an enemy area and the execution of all procedures for locating, rescuing and evacuating the pilots.
Apart from the additional experience it provides, the joint participation of the personnel of the Special Forces and Air Force Commands in the said exercise promotes their interoperability and significantly contributes to the enhancement of both the aircraft operational capabilities and the search and rescue capabilities of the Special Operations Teams of the Special Forces Command.
