On Monday, December 12, 2022, a ceremony to award medals to those who took part in the operations in Cyprus in 1964, 1967 and 1974 and Medals of Honour to Military Officers was held at the Hellenic Military Academy. The medals were awarded by the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Charalambos Lalousis, on behalf of the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS).
The ceremony was also attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus, Kyriakos A. Kenevezos, the Mayor of the Municipality of Vari, Voula and Vouliagmeni, Mr. Grigorios Konstandellos, the Commander of the Supreme Military Support Command (“THESEUS”), Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, Archimandrite Christodoulos Samaras, on behalf of the Metropolitan of Glyfada, Hellinikon, Voula, Vouliagmeni and Vari, as well as Officers of the Armed Forces.
