In the context of the implementation of the provisions of the “Memorandum of Cooperation between the National Guard and the Cyprus Police”, which concern the implementation of joint exercises between the Naval Command (NC) and the Port Police, a joint exercise was held yesterday, October 7, 2020, in which units of the Naval Command and patrol boats of the Port Police participated.

In the exercise various scenarios were examined, which resemble the real conditions in the area of interest, in times of tension / crisis and during operations.

The training scenarios that were implemented mainly concerned the confrontation of asymmetric threats in order to increase the synergy of the two Commands, the execution of live fire drills and cooperation in information exchange between the ships and the Naval Observatories.

Once again, during the exercise, the excellent cooperation between the two Commands as well as the maintenance of the personnel’s high level of operational readiness and combat capability were displayed.
