Konstantinos Floros in Saudi Arabia – Further upgrading of military cooperation
On Tuesday, May 25, 2021, the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General Konstantinos Floros, during his official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, met his counterpart, Chief of Staff of the Saudi Armed Forces, General Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, accompanied by the Ambassador of Greece to Riyadh, Mr. Alexis Konstantopoulos.
During the meeting, the two leaders discussed the geopolitical developments in the wider region of the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East, the further upgrading of military cooperation, the possibility of utilizing and exchanging training facilities of the Armed Forces of the two countries as well as the execution of multinational exercises with other countries in the region.
They also exchanged views on the outcome of the joint activities held so far, with special reference to the bilateral exercise “FALCON EYE”, whose Distinguished Visitors Day (DV DAY) will take place on Wednesday May 26, 2021.

Afterwards, the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff met Major General Khalaf Al Enazi at the Air Operation Center (AOC), Major General Mohammed Al-Maghaidy at the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition, and Dr Abdullah Al Robeiah, President of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid & Relief Center. They all discussed issues of mutual interest, focusing on current regional and international developments as well as their impact on security and stability in the wider region of the Eastern Mediterranean, the Middle East and beyond, the preservation of which is a top priority for both countries.
The visit of the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff seals in the best way the excellent relationship between the two countries and reciprocates – in a short time – the visit of his counterpart to Greece two months ago.
