The joint bilateral training between the Armed Forces of Greece and the US, which took place from Monday, May 20, 2024 in the wider area of Attica, was completed on Thursday, May 30, 2024.
On the Greek side, the training was held with the participation of personnel and members of the Air Special Operations Unit of the Hellenic Army’s Special Warfare Command, alongside personnel and members of the Mobile Training Group (MOT) of the 160 Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR) of the US Special Operations Forces.
According to a relevant announcement, the activity related to the design and conduct of air special operations and took place in the context of the preparation of the Air Special Operations Unit, in view of its imminent operational evaluation by the Allied Special Operations Forces Command (ASOFCOM) of NATO in June 2024.
At the same time, the joint training has served as preparation for the joining of the new UH-60M helicopters, whose receipt is imminent, to the Air Special Operations Unit.
This activity practically proves the excellent relationship between Greece and the US at the military level.
