HNDGS | Hellenic Armed Forces participate in Multinational Exercise “CWIX 23”

From Monday 05 to Friday 23 June 2023, the Hellenic Armed Forces participated in the Multinational Exercise “Coalition Warrior Interoperability eXploration, eXperimentation, eXamination eXercise – CWIX 23”. The exercise was held at the headquarters of the Joint Force Training Center (JFTC) of NATO in Bydgoszcz, Poland, in the context of the wider planning of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS) regarding the international collaborations of the Hellenic Armed Forces.

“CWIX 23” is conducted by NATO on an annual basis. It is a “Technical Interoperability Verification and Validation (IV & V) Exercise”, aiming to examine, validate and verify the interoperability between allied communications and IT systems.

According to an announcement by the HNDGS, the exercise, managed by the Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (SACT)/ CWIX Senior Management Group (SMG), took place with the participation of personnel from 34 states and another 7 states as observers.

From the Greek side, 10 officers of the Hellenic Army and the Hellenic Air Force General Staffs, as well as 11 officials of NRDC-GR attended the exercise, whereas 2 of its network technicians of the Hellenic Army General Staff participated online.

The said exercise, the largest of its kind, is designed to solve interoperability challenges through the control of NATO and corresponding national information and communication systems, also aiming to promote innovation and interaction between manpower, procedures, and technology, in order to assist decision-making through the exchange of information.
