On Thursday 07 November 2024, as part of the activities for the thematic year “Non-Commissioned Officer” (NCOs), the General Staff of the National Guard (GEEF) organized a Conference with the main topic on “Non-Commissioned Officer”.
According to a relevant announcement, the Chief of the National Guard, Lt. Gen. George Tsitsikostas, as well as delegations of executives, attended the Conference.
The purpose of the Conference, through the topics presented by the speakers, was to highlight the institution of the Non-Commissioned Officer in the National Guard in the modern requirements of the military environment, as well as to provide information on issues concerning NCOs.
In his brief greeting, the Chief praised the continuous offer, dedication, and work performed by NCOs in the National Guard. He stated that they are the connecting link of command between the Officers and the soldiers, and at the same time they shoulder the crucial role of training the younger executives with their knowledge and experiences.
He then urged them to take advantage of the opportunities to participate in the training programs provided by the National Guard in order to improve and develop continuously, since the changes around us are much faster than in the past.
In closing, he invited them to continue the collective work with fervor and zeal, with the overall good of the National Guard and the Republic of Cyprus as the main focus in the thoughts and actions of all of us.
