A Russian helicopter has crashed in Armenia’s Ararat province, according to the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations.
BREAKING – Russia's Defence ministry confirms that a military Mi-24 helicopter was downed by fire from the ground over #Armenia, 2 crew members have died, 1 injured. The command of the 102nd Russian Military Base in Gyumri is assessing the perpetrator of the attack.

The helicopter crashed in the gorge between the villages of Yeraskh and Paruyr Syak and a large number of firefighters have been sent to the area.
Sputnik news agency reported earlier that a Russian Mi-24 helicopter was shot down by a SAM (surface-to-air missile). In addition, according to unofficial sources, two soldiers from the helicopter crew lost their lives, while others were injured. The helicopter was shot down while accompanying convoys of Russian military vehicles.
Social media accounts, which broadcast images, say the attack came from Azeris in the autonomous province of Nakhichevan, west of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh.
