A huge explosion shook the Lebanese capital, Beirut, and thick smoke towered the city, according to Reuters witnesses and local media.
Two security sources and a witness stated that the explosion took place in the area of the port where there are warehouses.
The blast shook many areas of the capital, shattering windows and doors and injuring people.
The powerful explosion in Beirut was felt in a large part of the city.
Besides, the explosion seems to have been felt in many parts of Cyprus, according to testimonies.
