The desire for closer cooperation between the Hellenic Aerospace Industry and the Department of Aerospace Science & Technology of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (EKPA) was confirmed during the recent meeting of the company’s president and CEO, Alexandros Diakopoulos, and the president of the department, Professor Vaios Lappas.
As stated in a relevant announcement from HAI, the subject of the discussion was the possibilities of expanding the traineeship of Aerospace students at HAI and the prospects of cooperation in UAV research projects, manufacturing and testing/certification of microsatellites, with the aim of multi-level scientific and technological cooperation to strengthen research activity and the exchange of scientific knowledge.
The successful four-month internship of students of the Aerospace department at HAI has been a particularly successful model of cooperation, which was decided to be expanded to include diploma theses and a larger number of students.
Also, the advanced activities related to the Aerospace department of EKPA were discussed, which concern the research, design, development, production and integrated support of electronic, telecommunication, information and aviation products, systems and networks.
During the discussion, the commitment and common ambition of HAI and the Aerospace Department of the EKPA to support research and science ties with the Greek airspace defence industry was expressed.
