Yesterday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Konstantinos Kombos, had a telephone conversation with the US Secretary of State, Mr. Antony Blinken, following the initiative of the US Secretary of State.
Spoke today with Cypriot Foreign Minister @ckombos. Look forward to deepening our efforts in support of Ukraine and to advancing regional security and stability in the Eastern Mediterranean. The U.S. stands ready to support Cypriot-led efforts to resume reunification talks.

In the context of the telephone conversation, the two Ministers exchanged views on ways to further deepen the strategic cooperation between Cyprus and the US, the Cypriot issue, and Ukraine, but also on the important role played by Cyprus as a pillar of stability in the eastern Mediterranean.
The two Ministers had the opportunity to exchange views on the efforts of the President of the Republic, Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, to restart negotiations on the Cyprus issue, within the agreed solution framework, as determined by the relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council.
At the same time, the two Ministers reviewed the broader framework of Cyprus-US cooperation, including the 3+1 political formation, which is a practical commitment to regional peace, security, and stability.
