Cyber Security Competition | In detail, the distinguished “hackers” with the highest scores
A Pancyprian Cyber Security Competition (CCSC 2021) was organized by the Cyprus Computer Society (CCS) in collaboration with the CyberMouflons Hacking Community.
According to an announcement, the aim of the competition that took place online from April 1-18, 2021 was to find the young talents of the country in the field of cyber security.
The competition was attended by 220 people, ethical hackers, aged 14 and over, students, soldiers, university students, amateurs and professionals in the field.
The competition, in the form of CTF (Capture the Flag), included 41 different types of challenges in web subjects, reverse engineering, forensics, pwn, steganography, cryptography etc. prepared by a group of volunteer mentors.
The ones with the highest scores are: Neophytos Christou, Student, Brown University, USA, Sotiriou, Student, University of Nottingham, UK, Konstantinos Diomidou, Professional, Stronde Ltd., Christos Makridis, Researcher, KOIOS – University of Cyprus, Vassilis, Student, Cyprus University of Technology, Leonidas Stylianou, Researcher, KOIOS – University of Cyprus, Odysseas Stavrou, Student, Technical University of Crete, Chatziantonis, Student, University of Southampton, UK, Joseph, International School of Paphos, Stefanos Ioannis, Student, Apostolos Markou High School, Panagiotis Antoniou, Professional, Eleni Ioakeim, Student, University of Cyprus, Falas, Student, The English School Nicosia, Michail Christofi, Student, Pascal Greek School Limassol, Alexandros Andreou, London, UK, Konstantinidis, Student, Georgia Institute of Technology, USA, H. Sababa, Professional and Andreas Tsouloupas, graduate of the University of Cyprus.
It is noted that 20 people who meet the criteria of the respective Pan-European Cyber Security Competition (Cypriot nationals between the ages of 14-26) will attend training seminars and participate in competitions aimed at forming a 10-member official Cypriot team (5 people between 14-20 years of age and 5 people aged 21-26 years).
The Cypriot team will compete with 27 other countries in the Pan-European Cybersecurity Competition which will be held either in person or online from September 28 to October 1, 2021 in Prague.
CCSC 2021 is sponsored by the Ministry of Defence and the Digital Security Authority through the Office of the Communications Commissioner and approved by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth.
