The Cyprus Police Association (C.P.A.) expresses its satisfaction for the vote of the relevant Amending Regulations on the issue of the accelerated promotion of Police officers, Firefighters and Special Constables by the Plenary Session of the Parliament.
The announcement of C.P.A:
The Cyprus Police Association (C.P.A.) wishes to refer to the issue of the accelerated promotion of Police officers, Firefighters and Special Constables, within their respective combined ranks, and to announce that the issue has been brought to a final settlement following today’s vote of the relevant Amending Regulations by the Plenary Session of the Parliament.
As we have re-declared this vital issue that was highlighted and claimed by the C.P.A., a relevant agreement has been finally resolved for this purpose and the Association expresses its satisfaction and gratification to all those involved.
At the same time, the C.P.A. would like to thank its affected members for the patience, understanding and responsible attitude they have shown. In fact, these are conditions that have had a positive effect on the whole effort made by the Association so that the agreement reached almost three years ago can be practically and smoothly implemented, with retroactive application of its provisions.
In conclusion, the Association calls on all its members to remain mobilized around their elected leadership so as to effectively claim our just and long-standing demands, with the support of PA.SY.D.Y., and most notably the issue of the necessary wider restructuring and upgrading of the whole spectrum of our structure, ignoring any new ‘seeming defenders’ of our interests and rights.
