In her post on social media, the Minister of Justice, Emily Yiolitis, states that with the approval of the Cabinet, the discrimination regarding the promotion of the lower salary scales of police officers, firefighters and special police officers is corrected, while at the same time she expresses her appreciation towards the Police Association for the responsible attitude and patience it showed.

We remind you that those who were appointed after 25 July 2002 in the combined pay scales A3-A5-A7 did not benefit, unlike those who were appointed before 25 July.
This also applies to the special police officers who were appointed from 16/05/1997 until 11/07/2002 in the combined pay scales of their position A1-A3-A5, compared to those who were appointed after 11 July 2002 in the combined pay scales of their position A1-A2-A5.
