Defence Redefined
22/02/2025

At the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX) 2025, Thales and Safran.AI (formerly Preligens) announced a significant strategic partnership aimed at advancing capabilities in imagery intelligence.

This collaboration marks a major step forward in integrating cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) technology into defence systems.

Under this partnership, Safran.AI’s state-of-the-art AI Detectors will be incorporated into Thales’ MINDS system, an imagery intelligence (IMINT) solution used by various armed forces.

The integration will create a powerful synergy, enhancing the system’s ability to process and analyse high-resolution images and full-motion video (FMV). Safran.AI’s advanced AI technology is designed to automatically detect and identify military objects of interest, significantly improving the efficiency of intelligence operations.

By incorporating AI-driven capabilities, this collaboration will streamline the work of intelligence analysts, enabling faster and more precise decision-making. The partnership underscores the commitment of both Thales and Safran.AI to delivering innovative and advanced solutions that support defence and security missions worldwide.

Thales is also actively developing trusted AI applications across various critical systems in defence and security through its CortAIx initiative.

This programme consolidates Thales’ expertise in AI research, sensors, and system integration to drive innovation in military and security technologies.
