The Council of the European Union approved the participation of Switzerland in the “Military Mobility” project of the Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO). On Monday, January 13, 2025, the Council made its announcement.

The “Military Mobility” program aims to simplify and standardise the procedures for transporting land, air, and naval military forces across European borders. Greece and Cyprus also participate in the program, while the Netherlands is its coordinator.

Countries outside the European Union also participate in the program, including the USA, Canada, Norway, and the United Kingdom (UK), and now Switzerland will also participate.
