The Turkish Air Force has carried out 157 airstrikes with ANKA drones against Kurdish targets in northern Iraq and Syria in the past three days.
The raids come after the deadly terrorist attack on the Turkish Aerospace Industry in Ankara last Wednesday.
The PKK said in a statement it claimed responsibility for a terrorist attack on the TASUS aerospace plant in Ankara that killed five people and wounded 22 others. Ankara had pointed to the PKK behind the attack from the outset and promised punishment.
It is recalled that two attackers – a man and a woman – carried out the attack with automatic rifles and explosives on the headquarters of the Turkish Aerospace Industry (TUSAS) in Ankara on Wednesday.
According to the Turkish Authorities, one of the perpetrators of the terrorist attack was identified and was a member of the PKK, which appears to have joined the organization 7-8 years ago.
It is recalled that on Wednesday, both Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler and Turkish Interior Minister Ali Gerlikaya blamed the PKK for the attack from the first moment. However, as of Friday, no organization had officially claimed responsibility.
The Ankara General Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation into the incident as questions are raised about security gaps at the facility where around 15,000 people work. At the same time, they are looking for other perpetrators who participated in the attack. Scrutiny checks have been carried out in the Aerospace Industry since yesterday morning.
