Yemen’s Ansarallah (Houthi) movement announced on Wednesday that it would launch a new domestically-manufactured ballistic missile after hitting targets inside neighboring Saudi Arabia.
The announcement was made by General Abdullah bin Amer, who said, among other things, that last week’s rocket attack hit a number of locations deep inside Saudi territory.
Among the targets hit by the Houthi missiles was King Khaled Airport, located in the city of Khamis Mushait.
In addition, Houthi missiles and UCAVs also hit major oil installations and military targets within the border provinces of Jizan, Najran and Asir.

Unlike previous operations involving the use of a single ballistic missile, the recent attack was carried out using a combination of missiles and UCAVs, Bin Amer said.
He also explained that the latest attack came in response to Saudi Arabia’s ongoing attacks in Yemen, which have become more frequent in recent weeks.
“The enemy has tightened its blockade of Yemen and so the armed forces have a duty to break the siege through military operations,” Bin Amer added.
