GEP Unmanned Tech, the company behind the innovative XT8 Sentry, is a Greek company with almost a decade of experience in drone technology.

Since its establishment in 2016, GEP has focused on providing advanced drone systems tailored to a variety of applications. Its mission, “to bring out the true power of drones,” guides the development of innovative models.

GEP’s major milestones include domestic recognition for racing drones, as well as the development of the XT8 for critical medical deliveries during the COVID-19 pandemic in Thessaloniki.

Focusing on the XT8 Sentry system, the wide range of features ensures its suitability for multiple applications. Payload control systems and connectivity options make it an ideal tool for logistics (winching cargo for safe delivery), public safety, strikes (mortar release mechanism), and surveillance operations.

In addition to these, the integration of a megaphone with a power of 25W allows the audio transmission of messages at a distance of up to 1 kilometre when operating at a height of 100 meters, making it a valuable tool for crowd management and providing emergency alerts.

The platform is designed for long-range operations, using 4G LTE connectivity that provides virtually unlimited control as long as there is mobile network coverage. Operators can manage missions from any location via internet-connected devices such as smartphones, tablets, or PCs.

The XT8’s aerial performance features a top speed of 100 km/h and a cruising speed of 55 km/h. Its flight endurance reaches 67 minutes without payload and 30 minutes with a payload of 2.5 kg, making it adaptable to various operational needs.  Furthermore, even with 4 of its 8 engines disabled, the system maintains flight.

The integrated systems also allow real-time 1080p resolution video processing and transmission, offering further utility for surveillance or data collection.

GEP has already had success selling UAVs in countries such as the United Arab Emirates, the Philippines, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Britain, Italy, and the United States, and recently joined forces with a software development company.

In fact, it is the company that won EMAK’s international competition for the supply of 16 reconnaissance drones, due to its innovation, that is, to manufacture waterproof drones with night vision capability.

At this point, it is pointed out that during EUROSATROY 2024, EODH revealed its recent collaboration with GEP. According to EODH, the cooperation of the two companies looks forward to the integration of Unmanned Aerial Systems on ground platforms so that from the latter they can be deployed either for surveillance or for attack.
