US defence startup XDOWN has developed a tactical Unmanned Aerial System called the PS Killer (PSK).

Throwers use this lightweight drone, which has a distinctive rugby ball-like appearance, for rapid deployment.

The company describes the PSK as a drone system designed for special operations forces and missions, providing speed, stealth, and precision targeting.

XDOWN developed the PSK to enhance the capabilities of special operations forces in executing high-value target (HVT) missions as well as reducing collateral damage in urban environments.

XDOWN describes the PSK deployment process as Take—Power—Throw. The drone is operational within two seconds, like a quarterback throwing a football. Once thrown, the rotor blades will immediately open and rotate to bring the drone flying.

This uniquely shaped kamikaze drone has a range of around 65 km and can reach speeds of 250 km/h. However, XDOWN has not disclosed the type and weight of the warhead that the PSK drone carries.

With its compact design, fast activation, and advanced capabilities, the PSK represents a new direction in small-scale, high-impact drone technology.
