Kyiv will allocate approximately €5.2 million to a new anti-drone programme aimed at defending the Ukrainian capital’s skies from Russian drone attacks, municipal authorities announced on Friday.

US President Donald Trump declared a state of emergency on the border with Mexico on his first day in office, ordering the US military to guarantee their security and implementing his immigration policy.
With the state of emergency, all illegal entries will stop immediately, and they shall begin deporting millions of foreign criminals back to where they came from, the new president said in his inauguration speech.
Simultaneously, he signed a presidential decree on Monday night, questioning the right to the territory, a move he described as “ridiculous.”
In the same context of strengthening border protection, the 47th president of the United States announced that he is going to proceed with the construction of the wall on the border with Mexico and limit the right to asylum, said Anna Kelly, the new deputy spokeswoman of the White House.
On the first day, the CBP One app, created by the Joe Biden administration so that immigrants could make asylum appointments before they arrived in the US, stopped working. Many immigrants discovered that the app had cancelled their appointments.
But these decisions are likely to be challenged in court by organisations and states in which Democrats govern. During his campaign, Mr. Trump used extremely harsh rhetoric against immigrants while declaring that illegal immigration caused a “crime wave” in the US.
In this context, pre-election he had promised that his government would implement the death penalty for immigrants convicted of murder or other heinous crimes.
At the same time, he announced that he characterises the drug cartels as “foreign terrorist organisations” coming from Mexico and promises to eliminate the presence of all foreign gangs and criminal rings in the US.
