A senior leader of the Islamic State in Syria is dead, according to a US announcement, following a military operation by the US Army on Monday 4/3.
As reported by Reuters, the said leader is Khalid ‘Aid Ahmad al-Jabouri, who was responsible for planning ISIS attacks in Europe and developed the terrorist organization’s leadership structure.
The announcement states, among others, that al-Jabouri’s death will temporarily disrupt the organization’s ability to plan external attacks.
The attack was the latest in a series of attacks in recent years targeting al-Qaeda-linked fighters and senior members of the Islamic State group in northwestern Syria.
