Four people died in the incidents that broke out on Wednesday at the US Capitol, while 52 people have been arrested, announced the Washington Police Chief, Robert J. Contee, during a press conference he gave on Wednesday night (local time Thursday morning, Cyprus time).
Contee clarified that 47 of the 52 arrests were made due to the violation of the curfew imposed by the Mayor Muriel Bowser after 18:00 yesterday, with 26 of them taking place at the Capitol. Several other people were arrested for carrying weapons without a license or because their weapons are prohibited.

According to the Washington Police Chief, two improvised explosive devices were found and confiscated at the headquarters of the Republican National Committee and the National Democratic Committee, while a portable refrigerator containing a Molotov cocktail was also found and confiscated in a vehicle at the Capitol. Contee also reported that a Capitol Guard officer fired the bullet which injured a woman, who later succumbed to her injuries at the hospital she was treated. He did not disclose the details of the victim, stating that her relatives had still not been informed. He clarified that the other three deaths were due to medical emergencies.
