Ukranian forces defending Zolote and Hirsch are in danger of being surrounded by Russian troops, according to Ukrainian generals.

In the direction of Toskivka – Pintlysne, the enemy occupied the settlements of Pidlisne and Mirna Dolina, the Ukrainian General Staff said via Facebook. Russian forces also advanced near Hirsch, according to the same source.

Russia’s territorial gains cut off the northern road link between Ukrainian troops defending Zolote and Hirsch and Ukrainian units in Lisichansk.

At the same time, in his last night’s address, Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, once again demanded that other sanctions be imposed by the European Union on Russia, arguing that Brussels should decide on the seventh package of sanctions as soon as possible.

He stressed that Russia must feel the rising pressure because of the war and its aggressive anti-European policy, also reminding that it is urgent for his army to receive more weapons. He added that the lives of thousands of people depend entirely on how quickly the partners’ supplies are delivered.
