The President has appointed Stelios Papatheodorou as the new Chief of Police
The appointment of Stelios Papatheodorou as Chief of Cyprus Police and Christos Mavris as Deputy Chief was decided by the President of the Republic Nikos Anastasiadis, according to Government Spokesman Kyriakos Kousios.
According to a statement from the Presidency, in a written statement, Mr. Kousios states that the President of the Republic “exercising the powers provided by the Constitution of the Republic of Cyprus decided to appoint Stelios Papatheodorou as Chief of the Police Force of Cyprus and Christos Mavris as Deputy Chief of the Force.”
“The relevant confirmation ceremony and the assumption of the new duties of the Chief and Deputy Chief of the Cyprus Police Force will take place on July 1, 2020,” the Government Spokesman concluded.
