Ten adult illegal Syrian immigrants were spotted this morning boarding a boat off Cape Greco in the free province of Famagusta.
According to the Police, around 10.30 this morning, a boat was spotted by a Coast Guard patrol boat sailing off Cape Greco.
The Port and Maritime Police rushed to the scene and accompanied the boat with the illegal immigrants to the Golden Coast fishing shelter in Protaras.
Aboard the boat, which arrived at the fishing shelter shortly after 2.30 pm today, were 10 Syrian men aged 21 to 42 years who, according to the Police, had departed from the Syrian city of Tartus, yesterday, Thursday, April 15th.
After recording the details of the illegal immigrants, the latter are expected to be transferred to the “Pournara” Temporary Accommodation Center in Kokkinotrimithia accompanied by the Police.
