Five years after imposing restrictions on arms exports to Turkey, Norway has decided to accept Ankara’s arms applications.
A week-long ceasefire has been announced to take effect between the Sudanese Army and a paramilitary group, but the warring sides are still currently fighting.
US and Saudi mediators indicated on Sunday that they had succeeded, after two weeks of negotiations in Saudi Arabia, in a one-week ceasefire, which will take effect today at 22:45 Greek time.
The two sides have declared through their statements that they will respect this ceasefire agreement, which has been welcomed by the UN, the African Union and Igad – the group of East African countries. However, during the five weeks that the war in Sudan has lasted, several ceasefires have been announced, which have been promptly violated.
