For humanitarian reasons, it has been decided to extend the ceasefire agreement, which, however, is not fully implemented.

The humanitarian ceasefire in Sudan was extended on Sunday and will last for three days starting at midnight, according to a statement released by the spokesman of the paramilitary Rapid Support Force (RSF).

In response to international, regional, and local appeals, the 72-hour extension of the humanitarian ceasefire was announced, coming into effect at midnight yesterday, in order to open humanitarian corridors and facilitate the movement of citizens and residents to meet their needs and arrive in safe areas, the announcement states.

Hundreds of people have been killed and thousands injured since the long-running power struggle between the Sudanese Army and the RSF turned into conflict on April 15.
