Signing of the Greece – United Arab Emirates Military Cooperation Program

On Tuesday, December 20, 2022, the “Greece – UAE Military Cooperation Program” for 2023 was signed at the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS) by the Director of the International Relations Directorate of HNDGS, Brigadier General Nikolaos Cholevas, and the Director of the Directorate of Education, Brigadier General Staff Eng. Nasir Rashid AlNaqbi, of the UAE Armed Forces.

The said Military Cooperation Program has the same basis as the corresponding one for 2022 and includes, among others, participation in joint exercises as well as in those of the individual Branches of the Armed Forces, joint exercises in Crisis Management – Disaster Response and Electronic Warfare, joint exercises of Special Forces – Special Operations Forces, exchange of personnel and visits to schools and multinational schools and staff meetings and talks on matters of mutual interest.

HNDGS reports that the signing of the Program confirms the ever-upgrading Military Cooperation between the 2 countries, further strengthens the ties of their Armed Forces and at the same time expands their interoperability, contributing to the strengthening of the role played by Greece and the UAE as pillars of stability and security in the wider Mediterranean and Middle East regions.
