Joe Biden called on Americans’ unity, their greatest power, in a video message broadcast yesterday, on the eve of the twentieth anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks.
On Saturday, Joe Biden and his wife will go to three iconic locations of the 9/11 terrorist attacks: New York, the Pentagon, and Pennsylvania.
20 years after September 11, 2001, we commemorate the 2,977 lives we lost and honor those who risked and gave their lives. As we saw in the days that followed, unity is our greatest strength. It’s what makes us who we are — and we can’t forget that. pic.twitter.com/WysK8m3LAb

Nearly 3,000 people were killed there, including more than 2,600 at the World Trade Center in New York, when hijackers seized control of four planes and used them to attack the Twin Towers and the Pentagon.
The 9/11 anniversary is inevitably linked to the recent return of the Taliban to power in Afghanistan following the withdrawal of US, British, and other NATO forces. The US president has been widely criticized for his handling of the chaotic withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan and is not expected to make public statements at scheduled ceremonies.

The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs states on September 11 that the Greek people stand in solidarity with their American friends and allies and honor the memory of the victims of the monstrous terrorist attacks of September 11, adding that 20 years later, everyone remains united in our collective duty for freedom and democracy.
