Eleven dead and four wounded who have been hospitalized is up to now the toll of the armed attack launched by a perpetrator in a school in the city of Kazan in central Russia, according to Russian news agencies.
According to Sputnik, a 17-year-old man was arrested as a suspect in the attack, with the agency saying that the victims were six students and a teacher. Later, however, both Sputnik and Reuters spoke of a death toll of 9. Other international media put the death toll at 12 and said a second person was involved in the attack.
According to Sputnik, the school was evacuated, while earlier there was an explosion in the school building.

Students jumped off the building to escape the armed attack.

The attack was followed by some kind of explosion in the school corridors.

There was also a second perpetrator, who was arrested.
Citing a source, the Russian news agency Tass reported that in the armed attack that took place in a school in the city of Kazan in Russia, there was a second perpetrator who was arrested. According to emergency services, two students were killed jumping out of the classroom windows to escape.
Kazan is the capital of the Russian Republic of Tatarstan and is located 700 km east of Moscow.
