The recruitment of Professional Soldiers (SYOPs) in the National Guard will be based on priority order in the Final Table.
The Ministry of Defence announces the recruitment of Professional Soldiers (SYOPs) in the National Guard based on priority order in the Final Table of SYOP candidates, which was published in the Official Gazette of the Republic on 26.03.2021. The upcoming recruitment concerns the Guards of Nicosia, Klirou and Nisou – Kornos.
The SYOP candidates will be invited via e-mail and text message (sms), which will contain all the relevant information for their Health Examination and the signing of the Employment Contract, which was published along with the announcement of the recruitment in the Official Gazette of the Republic on 04.12.2020.
Candidates who have completed the medical examinations and obtained the relevant certificates after 3.12.2020 will not be required to repeat them. In case a SYOP candidate arrives at the Health Examination (for which they will be invited via email and text message (sms) / the examination will take place before the signing of the relevant Contract) without all the required medical examinations / certificates, or if during the Health Examination they are not deemed fit for service in the National Guard (category other than I/1 or I/2) or if they do not attend the Health Examination, they will be deleted from the Final Table and their place will be offered to the next candidate.
It is emphasized that the candidates, who will be deemed suitable (category I1 or I2) during the Health Examination and will proceed to sign the Employment Contract, must necessarily submit the following:
(a) Identity Card along with one photocopy.
(b) Original Clear Criminal Record Certificate (recent – not issued more than 2 months ago).
(c) Apolytirion or Graduation Certificate from an accredited Secondary School (original to be shown as well as a certified copy to be submitted to the Ministry of Defence).
(d) Bachelor’s Degree and/or Postgraduate Degree or Diploma (original to be shown as well as a certified copy to be submitted to the Ministry of Defence).
(e) Completed “Salary of Civil Servants – Personal Details of a Newly-appointed Employee” form (attached).
(f) Salary payment via bank transfer authorization (attached).
(g) Completed declaration for claiming tax deductions (attached).
(h) Photocopy of proof of social insurance registration number (in case someone does not have a social insurance registration number, they should take all necessary actions at the Ministry of Labor so as to obtain one).
(i) Marriage certificate and child birth certificate, if applicable.
(j) Original Certificate, in accordance with article 22 (6) of the Law on Preventing and Combating the Sexual Abuse and Sexual Exploitation of Children and Child Pornography (Law 91 (I) / 2014), issued by the Chief of Police, which certifies that the candidate is not registered in the Record kept under the provisions of this article, and
(k) Medical certificate that the candidates can attend the initial training that will take place after the signing of the Employment Contract. Failure to attend this training constitutes a reason for exclusion of the candidate or for granting a postponement, based on the Table of Diseases, Illnesses and Injuries issued pursuant to Article 31 of the National Guard Laws.
(l) Stamp duty (obtained from the post office) worth €17.5, that is, one of €10, three of €2, one of €1 and one of €0.50.
In the event that the invited candidates do not respond to the invitation to sign the Employment Contract, the Ministry of Defence will proceed with the recruitment of the next candidate, based on the order in the Final Table.
