This time assisted by other co-responsible services of the public sector such as the Ministry of Shipping, the National Guard, the Civil Defence, the Port Service and people from other relevant services”he said.
Referring to the return of thousands of citizens to work, as well as the increase in travel from one to three, Mr Andreou said police duties were increasing, but noted that “the purpose of the police is not to complain, but to help people overcome this pandemic, with as few cases as possible”.
“We will be on the streets clearly to help people overcome this situation,” he added.
Regarding the number of members who have been thrown into the battle today, Mr. Andreou said that “today there are around 110 patrols throughout Cyprus, noting that more than 250 members are on the streets just to enforce the Law on Dease purification (Loimokatharsis)”.
