Participation of “SALAMIS” frigate in operation “CLEMENCEAU 21” – Photo
In the context of the general planning of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff for the increase and intensity of the allied, bilateral and multilateral joint exercises of the Hellenic Armed Forces with friends and allied countries, frigate “SALAMIS” joined the French Naval Force TF-473 in the sea area of southern Crete. The said Naval Force accompanies the French Aircraft Carrier CHARLES DE GAULLE, which is also its Command ship.
Frigate “SALAMIS” will accompany this Force during its voyage to the Toulon Naval Base until Thursday, June 3, 2021, carrying out particularly demanding operational training activities, which upgrade the interoperability and confirm the high level of cooperation between the allies participating in TF-473.
In addition to the French units, naval units of Greece and the USA also participate in the French operation “CLEMENCEAU 21”. Furthermore, these units will collaborate with forces of other EU member-states, NATO and Strategic Partners, thus highlighting the joint efforts of participating countries to consolidate peace and stability in the wider Mediterranean region.
