The Turkish research ship Oruc Reis was detected 6.8 nautical miles south of Kastellorizo on Thursday night.
The Turkish research ship continued its surveys within the zone of 6-12 miles in an area that, according to Athens, falls within the Greek continental shelf.
Oruc Reis is currently sailing south at a speed of 4.4 knots towards the eastern end of the region, accompanied by the Aaman and Cengiz Han auxiliary vessels as well as warships.
According to the recent NAVTEX, the day after tomorrow, Sunday November 29, Oruc Reis will sail to Antalya for maintenance work, after almost a year and a half of continuous activities in an area between Rhodes and Kastellorizo.
