“ORION-21” | Participation of the National Guard in the Multinational Exercise with a Special Operations team

On Monday, May 31, 2021, the Multinational Exercise “ORION-21” commenced in Greece with the participation of Special Forces Units from Greece, the USA, Israel, Cyprus and Serbia.

The National Guard is represented by a Special Operations Team of the Special Forces Command and the Underwater Demolition Team of the Navy Command. The countries participating in the exercise are represented by their elite forces (Navy Seals and 10th Special Forces Group from the USA, Special Operations Division from Israel and Special Operations Brigade from Serbia).

During the exercise, complex and demanding operational activities will be carried out across most parts of Greece (island and mainland), with the participation of forces and means of all Branches of the Armed Forces. The exercise, which will be completed on Friday, June 4, 2021, focuses on diverse conventional training (direct offensive, special surveillance – reconnaissance, non-consensual boarding, search – rescue, etc.), as well as training in hybrid warfare.
