The National Guard (NG) announced that, in the context of social contribution activities, it supports initiatives and actions that are implemented under the auspices of associations and institutions for public benefit purposes, such as the Anti-Cancer Society of Cyprus, PASYKAF, the Karaiskaki Foundation and the Blood Center of the Bank of Cyprus.

The General Staff of the National Guard (GEEF), in collaboration with the local Formations and Commands, has recently organized, on a voluntary basis, blood donations, sampling for bone marrow donors and fundraisers. Blood donations and sampling took place at the headquarters of the Formations and Commands and were attended by executives and conscripts, while executives of the National Guard participated in the fundraisers organized by the Anti-Cancer Society and PASYKAF in all provinces as volunteers.

In addition, in the framework of the cooperation of the National Guard with the Office of the Commissioner for Volunteerism and Non-Governmental Organizations, the GEEF decided to donate the goods of the National Guard Officers’ Station (PAEF) to the Youth Section of the Cyprus Red Cross, the Alkionides Charity and the Nicosia District Committee for Large Families.

Through these collaborations, the National Guard, in addition to promoting its social character, also cultivates in its members the spirit of voluntary conscience and contribution to society as a whole.
