According to an announcement of the General Staff of the National Guard (GEEF) in the period between 03-09 April 2021, the routine activities for the reservists took place, as part of the annual planning.  The activities aim in upgrading the level of training and operational readiness of the Combat Units.

The activities, which are being carried out simultaneously in all the Formations and Commands of the National Guard, include, among others, live-fire combat training, tactical training and shooting with various weapon systems, urban warfare training and education in the procedures followed by the reservists during their routine activities.

The reservists’ training was attended by the Chief of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Democritus Zervakis and the hierarchy of the GEEF. The mass attendance and the voluntary – in most of the cases – participation in the scheduled training activities demonstrates the interest of the reservists and at the same time highlights the importance of their contribution to the operational readiness of the National Guard.

The routine activities will continue, while the postponed activities – due to Covid-19 – during the first quarter of 2021 have been rescheduled.

During the activities, all the necessary measures to comply with the provisions of the decrees of the Ministry of Health concerning the COVID-19 were taken.
