National Guard | Joint training with the French Navy – Photos

In the context of ​​the French Frigate FS AUVERGNE’s presence in the region, the Navy Command of the National Guard General Staff organized – in collaboration with the French Navy – a joint training with drills of common interest. The General Support Ship FS LOIRE of the French Navy also took part in the exercise.

According to an announcement by the National Guard, the conduct of the international exercise (Passing Exercise/PASSEX), codenamed “CYP/FRA-01/2021”, took place in the framework of the Bilateral Memorandum of Understanding “in Defence Cooperation” between the Ministries of Defence of the Republic of Cyprus and France. The objectives as well as the purpose of the exercise were the development of interoperability and synergy as well as the promotion of relations between the Navy Command of the National Guard and the French Navy.

During the exercise, the Navy of the Republic of Cyprus and the Units of the French Navy operating in the Eastern Mediterranean were given the opportunity to participate in a joint training focusing on various areas of naval cooperation, highlighting the excellent relations between the Armed Forces of the two countries.
