N. Dendias | In Brussels for the EU Foreign Affairs Council

Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias is today, Monday, January 24, in Brussels where he will participate in the EU Foreign Affairs Council.

According to a relevant announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, prior to the Council, the Minister of Foreign Affairs will participate in an informal working breakfast with his counterparts, organized by the Cypriot Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ioannis Kasoulidis, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait, Ahmad Nasser Mohammad Al-Sabah.

The latest developments in Syria and Libya as well as the security situation in Eastern Europe will be on the agenda of the Council. This will be followed by a teleconference discussion on the latest issue of the EU Foreign Ministers with their American counterpart, Anthony Blinken.

The Foreign Ministers will also exchange views on EU policy in the Indo-Pacific region as well as on developments in Mali and Sudan. In addition, the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina will be discussed, following a joint proposal by Greece and Croatia.

Finally, on the sidelines of the Council, the Foreign Minister is expected to have a private meeting with the EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue, Miroslav Lajčák.
